INDEPENDENT PRACTITIONER
Yordano is a State of Kansas Licensed Master-Level Psychologist and an independent practitioner at The Therapy Center. He is a bilingual therapist (native Spanish speaker) under clinical supervision to become a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist in Kansas. Yordano began his training in general psychology at the University of Havana, in Cuba, obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology, in Puerto Rico, and a Master’s and Specialist’s degree as a School Psychologist at Wichita State University.
Yordano has experience working with children and adults as a former case manager at COMCARE developing skills to promote adaptive responses to stress, improve conflict resolution, alleviating symptomatology associated with multiple mental health conditions, and managing suicidal thoughts. Additionally, he has experience as a school psychologist working with school teams identifying and addressing socio-emotional, psychological, and cognitive difficulties affecting children's academic performance in school.
Yordano is passionate about helping children and adults to heal and improve. His main framework includes existentialism, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to gain insights, and develop skills that help people improve during treatment and stay well after treatment has concluded. He focuses on treating English and Spanish speaking individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, general difficulties with emotional regulation, grief, and major life adjustments (migration, divorce, death of loved ones, loss of employment). In addition, Yordano focuses on psychological evaluations of Spanish and English-speaking individuals for the purpose of receiving diagnostic clarification, and identification of various mental health conditions (ADHD, Autism, intellectual disability, learning disorders, etc.)
