Tisha Darland, LSCSW, LCAC
LICENSED SPECIALIST CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER & LICENSED CLINICAL ADDICTIONS COUNSELOR
Tisha is a State of Kansas Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor, and an independent practitioner at The Therapy Center eastside office. Tisha has over 18 years of experience providing psychotherapy and assessments to people of all ages. She works with children, adolescents, couples, families and adults who are hoping that through the therapy process some aspect of their current situation will improve. Tisha believes that each person is capable of change and she likes to say that she functions as “coach” during this process, teaching them skills, providing encouragement and using her skills to help each person reach their goal.
Her evidence-based approach includes EMDR-Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Based therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy techniques. Tisha has experience treating those that are impacted by depression, anxiety, suicidal thinking, death and dying issues, addictions and forensic situations. Tisha earned her Master of Social Work degree at Newman University. She completed her clinical practicums and post-graduate work at Via Christi Hospitals and Family Consultation Services treating families, adults, and children with medical and behavioral health needs in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
Before joining The Therapy Center at the East Funston location, Tisha served as the Director of Crisis and Outpatient Services at COMCARE. In that role, she worked with other community agencies to develop the ICT-1 program, expand COMCARE’s Community Crisis Center and adapt all outpatient and addiction services through this current pandemic ensuring that those in need of services were able to obtain those via alternative methods.
Tisha and her husband, Glenn, live in Wichita with their two dogs and enjoy spending their weekends at the lake with family and friends.
