Deidre A. Manis

LICENSED CLINICAL ADDICTIONS COUNSELOR
Deidre is a State of Kansas Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor, and an independent practitioner at The Therapy Center. Deidre has experience with providing psychotherapy to individuals of all ages. Deidre believes that as a therapist she works to “walk alongside” her clients in their journey.
Deidre utilizes therapeutic techniques that are tailored specifically to each individual and their needs. Her evidence-based approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy techniques. Deidre is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing(EMDR). Deidre has experience treating those impacted by depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, suicidal thoughts, psychosis, grief related issues and survivors of suicide loss. Deidre earned her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Kansas and has worked within the Community Mental Health Center system for the past 14 years, providing skills training, psychotherapy and crisis counseling to individuals of all ages. Most recently, Deidre was the program manager at COMCARE’s Community Crisis Center, expanding crisis services in Sedgwick County and developing innovative programs and services to meet the needs of our community.
Deidre and her husband Shane have one daughter and three energetic dogs. She enjoys running and spending time cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks and Chicago Cubs!
