Terri Brown, LSCSW
LICENSED SPECIALIST CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER
Terri is a State of Kansas Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker and independent practitioner at The Therapy Center’s West location. Terri has over 33 years of experience providing assessments and psychotherapy. Terri works with older adults, adults, families and older adolescents.
Terri utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Terri has experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD for crime victims, physical and sexual abuse, chronic and terminal illness, step-parenting issues and PTSD for veterans.
Terri completed her Master of Social Work degree in Clinical Centered Practice from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas. She completed her clinical practicums and post-graduate supervised clinical experience at Family Consultation Service working with children, adults and families.
Before joining The Therapy Center at the Central Avenue location, Terri served as an independent practitioner at Adult, Child and Family Counseling for 17 years.
Terri received the 2008 Social Worker of The Year award from the National Association of Social Workers-Kansas Chapter.
Terri lives with her husband and their two very spoiled and rambunctious cats. She enjoys gardening, quilting and hiking.
