Amy is a State of Kansas Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist and an independent practitioner at The Therapy Center. She has a specialty interest in the therapeutic needs of children and youth, and provides assessment and treatment for an array of childhood related difficulties, including anxiety, ADHD, depression, bipolar, oppositional defiant behaviors, attachment, adjustment issues, and developmental concerns. Along with working with children, as young as two years of age, Amy also provides individual and family therapy services for adolescents and adults.

Amy believes the cornerstone to all development begins with the foundation of relationships. She embraces this in her practice by honoring the development of a trusting therapeutic relationship with her clients which fosters them being able to begin to discover and grow in a healthy life journey. Appreciating the neurodevelopmental perspective of children, Amy notes that through connections and a sense of safety, developing children can begin to learn the skills of self-regulation, emotional regulation, problem solving, conflict resolution, relating positively with others, and feeling good themselves. In the therapeutic process, Amy not only works with the child, but also focuses on empowering families or others who care for them in supporting growth and progress. Amy utilizes a variety of treatment approaches shaped to each client's needs and individuality, including cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, behavioral therapy, and family therapy.

Amy has her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and has been in the mental and behavioral health field over the past twenty years, including several years as a Children's Services Coordinator of an outpatient program. Prior to joining The Therapy Center, Amy worked for eight years at Prairie View here in Wichita providing outpatient clinical services.

Amy is married with two grown children and is celebrating the true joy in life, being a grandparent!
